Things that gave me much needed laugh over christmas

My Dad

League of gentleman box set

Curb your enthusiasm

Picking up an old man who we saw miss his bus and taking him 7 miles in the opposite direction to where we were headed only to knock him down whilst turning around (this didn't happen...the last bit....but the thought of it made me laugh)

The Timewaster Letters (I advise anyone to read it)

Other things too i'm sure but I will leave it there for now.

What an interesting festive holiday
like everybody i'm sure
i have eaten too much
dunk toooooooo much
and spent too much money

I also found out from my only sibling
over christmas
I am going to be an auntie
as my new sister in law Ewa is

This brought me to tears
and I hadn't even drunk anything
I'm excited
and look forward to being Auntie Kath...I mean uncle Maurice

So he beat me to it.
Even though everyone thought it would be me
He met, married and successfully inseminated Ewa
In the same academic year that I took on two promotions

Give a man a fish.......

I got a goat and 10 chickens
and I live in a small one bed flat
I would have liked a partridge in a pear tree
but didn't get one

Instrumental value

I have just spent the last two hours having guitar lessons
I was drinking wine at the time, so am now pissed but can play Karma Police, Last Christmas and I hope that I don't fall in love with you.

I also learned the first bit of My Iron Lung but was over ambitious, going for the slide string technique rather than change my fingering.

My dad always used to say "I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous"
(True it is neither funny nor clever but I rather like my old dad and will quote him when it seems to fit)

Well I would give my right arm to be able to play the guitar well. I have always had an interest in playig instruments but unfortunalty never stuck with any of them long enough to master them. I played the piano as a young child, then the tenor recorder (remember this lisa?), then I played the glockenschpeile (how the fuck does one spell this) with my first boyfriend Mark O (now a gay) then at secondary school I played the drums (not too bad at them) then at 21 my brother bought me a guitar and I have been messing around with it ever since.

A Few Things

Ronnie O'sullivan has got good looking....when did that happen

My brother-in-laws flatmate won't let anything dirty near his cd's or dvd's - he wouldn't let me touch them - I've never been so insulted

Last night our neighbours played reggae music till about 3am - I don't like reggae
Now they are playing Chris Isaak - Wicked Game

I like Nick Cave and his bad seeds

I've got an office at work THEREFORE i am important

I have a good friend who says things that make me laugh like "The Lunatics are running the assylum" and "Tail's wagging the dog"

I don't like giving people lifts - especially if they smell

Richard and Judy

How funny to arrive home, switch on the TV and see Richard Madeley lying with his head in his wife (Judy Finnegan's) lap, looking up at her all but sucking his thumb (or her breast) whilst she reads him a story about Santa in a baby voice. This is TV Gold...whoever doesn't just love these two must be mad. Long may they grace our screens.
